Ben Affleck Receives Humanitarian Award

Ben Affleck will receive the third annual People's Choice Award for Favorite Humanitarian during the show's live telecast on CBS tomorrow night.

The Oscar-winning actor was chosen for his work work with Eastern Congo Initiative, the organization he founded in 2010 which provides development grants and advocacy for community-building projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Mark Burnett, the executive producer of The People's Choice Awards, says "We are so pleased to honor Ben with the 2015 People's Choice Humanitarian Award. This award has become an important part of our show. It highlights a different side of a celebrity and helps bring awareness to a cause that our audience can support.”
