The bears are out….Rattlesnake Bob, a regular on the Craig & Al Morning Show called earlier this week  to alert us to the fact that a black bear raided his bird feeder and the can used  to store bird seed. Bob thought it was a little early. He moved all the stuff into his garage for summer storage. He hopes the bear hasn’t become too used feeding on his back deck.

Vivica Crowser from FW&P also let us know that seasonal grizzly bear surveys are starting. Biologists will work in the Blackfoot Valley, along the Rocky Mountain Front, in the Swan and Clearwater River Valleys, within Glacier National Park, and in the North and Middle Forks of the Flathead River. Traps will also be set periodically on private and public lands where bear/human conflicts are occurring.  Warning signs will be posted along the major access points to the trapping site, and it is critical that all members of the public heed these signs.
