It seems like every store you walk into or every advertisement you see around town is about kids going back to school. Which can be a good and bad thing. Most parents are excited to get their kids back into the classroom and learning more, although it sure does cost a lot to get students prepared for the classroom.

Whether it is new clothes or supplies the cost of going back to school seems to stack up quickly. A new study done by Backpack Index reveals that on average for elementary school students parents will pay $637. It will cost $941 for middle school students and $1,355 for high school students. Which is actually down 6% compared to the numbers released in 2017.

I can promise you those numbers are a little inflated due to private schools because I can guarantee not all families are paying that much, it's not even an option. But it does go to show you how expensive it costs on average to go back to school. While I don't have any kids personally, parents I feel for you.
