Avalanche Updates Available Online

Weather and snow conditions have combined to create some very hazardous situations in the Northern Rockies. In just a little over a week four people have died from avalanches. Two near Cooke City and two more in the Flint Range near Philipsburgh. There’s a valuable website for all back country recreationists that is updated regularly; missoulaavalanche.org , their advisory area includes the Bitterroot Mountains from Lost Trail Pass North to Lookout Pass, the Rattlesnake Mountains and the Southern Swan and Mission Mountains near Seeley Lake.
