When the weather gets cold, there is nothing I like better than a cold pasta salad. It just always seems to hit the spot. It’s great for moms because it can be taken to picnics and potlucks as a side dish or it can be used as dinner.
I made this cake twice last week. I got the idea from the back of the cake box. It had a recipe in which you baked two cakes and put the cake together as you normally would, except you would put the can of pie filling in the middle of the cake layers and only frost the top. I tried this and it tasted great, but most of the cherries slopped over the side of the cake and made a huge mess.
Have you ever been to the south or met someone from the south. Don’t you think they have a weird accent? I spent a summer in Louisiana and I was shocked to find out that I was the one with the accent. How could I be the one with the accent? I could barely understand what people there were saying and was certain that most of them weren’t speaking English.
Job interviews can be nerve racking and stressful. You want so badly to make a good impression that you may not always tell the truth. You may fudge a little bit about exactly what you’re willing to do and how far you would go a company? What is too much? Where do you draw the line?
When I was growing up we took in a few Japanese exchange students. Every now and then they would cook for us. This is one of the dishes that they made for us. Well, it’s at least the Americanized version of the salad that they made for us.
With Easter popping up this weekend, many of us will be buying cartons upon cartons of eggs to boil and decorate with our families. For years we have done the same old boring Easter egg kits from the box stores that come with a few piddily little stickers and not so vibrant colors. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of this, so this year my family and I are going to shake things up a bit. We are going to try unconventional ways to decorate our Easter eggs.
With Spring here and bonfires and barbecues in our very near future, it’s time to break out the smores. This recipe is a great way to break out the smores any time of day or night. It is one of those treats that looks like it takes a lot of time and hard work to make, but is actually really easy.
My Facebook has been flooded lately, but not with the usual buzzfeed quizzes or mind numbing videos of people or pets doing random things. For the past few days my account has been packed by loving Missoulians who are coming together to support one of their own.
My husband is absolutely in love with these bars. He loves them so much that it is rare he will share even a bar or two. He is known for eating the entire pan himself. It doesn’t matter that he practically makes himself sick by doing this, he still won’t stop eating them.
With the unexpected winter squall this weekend, I’ve really been itching for summer. So to at least give myself the illusion that Spring is here and that Summer will come someday, I listened to some of my favorite country summertime songs. I can’t say that they helped change the weather at all, but they sure did help my mood. Here is the list of my favorite summertime songs.
That’s right folks, spring is here which means Easter is just around the corner. I love Easter. It is one of my favorite holidays. I love hiding eggs and candy for my kids to find and watching them run all over the place searching for it. I love watching their eyes light up as they find their hidden treasures.
