It’s looking like this weekend is shaping up to be the first real shot of spring weather we’re going to get this year. As far as I’m concerned, this calls for a celebration. What better way is there to do that than by kicking back in a lawn chair, soaking up the sun and sipping on a refreshing spring beverage.
When I was younger I had a pet rat named Ned. He was given to me by my brother, much to my mother’s chagrin. He was a sweet little albino rat. I used to put him in the hood of my sweatshirt and go for walks. He was very sweet.
Are there times when you want pizza, but you don’t have time to make homemade pizza after work and afterschool activities? Of course, you could always use a frozen pizza, but they still take time to bake and usually don’t taste too great either.
I have to start out by saying that my husband is not a cat lover, in the slightest. However, every Saturday he eagerly awaits the new Cat Saturday posts. He then spends a good half an hour laughing (almost to the point of tears) at cat picture after cat picture.
Here’s a joke that my boys love to tell. Question. Why do girls wear makeup and perfume? Answer. Because they’re ugly and they stink. Funny, right? Maybe if you’re a 10-year old boy who still thinks that girls are gross and may possibly have cooties.
My mother has been telling me to substitute applesauce for oil in my recipes for the past couple years now. I haven’t tried cooking with applesauce yet, but I have tasted a few things my mother has made with it. It is surprising that you can’t taste the applesauce at all, but it does manage to make whatever you bake with it nice and moist.
Could this possibly be true? Could the clouds be opening up and heaven be coming down to earth? Could chocolate actually make people skinny? Will we soon be able to down a Hershey’s bar in place of hitting the gym? Probably not.
Last spring I dove head first in to chicken farming. I found a clutch of young laying hens on Craigslist and built a coop. I was off and running. I had seven beautiful and classy hens who gave me and my family delicious organic eggs every day. Life was good.
Anyone who has an electronic device that is two years old or less has either heard of Candy Crush or is addicted to it. I think it’s safe to say that if you’ve ever tried Candy Crush, even once, you are probably addicted to it.
It’s no surprise that Oreo is America’s favorite cookie. How could any red blooded American resist the crispy chocolate with special cream in the middle? Then there is cheese cake. The Golden Girls loved it and so do pretty much every other woman in America (and lots of men too).
This recipe is one that my husband usually makes. He likes to make stuffed peppers during the summer on long floating trips. At around noon, he pulls the boat onto a little beach, breaks out the mini barbecue and cooks up the bad boys.
Can I get an, “Amen!” The snow is melting, and the roads and trails are drying off. The conditions are almost prime for running outside. I don’t know about you but I have been waiting four long months for this.
