I have four boys and three of them are school age. So, when the weekend comes and they don’t have a game for one sport or another to play in, I like to keep them occupied. I like to have them make things that either involve cooking or science
Have you ever noticed how different animals eat? It’s interesting if you think about it. For example, a cow simply plants its face in its food and chews away. How about an alligator? What do you think it’s like when an alligator opens its big jaws and just chomps away? That must make quite a mess. How about a lizard? It slithers along and then suddenly attacks its prey.
All the sports that have been on TV lately have put me in the chip and dip kind of food and my husband in a buffalo chicken wing kind of me. To tell you the truth, he is always in the buffalo chicken wing kind of mood. I swear he and my boys could eat them three times a week.
Just recently I have started using white distilled vinegar to clean my kitchen countertops. I had always heard rumors that vinegar could be used for this and so much more, but was never sure if they were true
Missoula seems to be a hot spot for small business owners and entrepreneurs. Starting and running a small business is no small task, especially in Montana. It seems that we were one of the last places for the Internet and cellphone companies to find. But now that they are here and just about everyone has them, wouldn’t it be great if you could reach them?
Who doesn’t love brownies? However, their chocolatey goodness is not always so good for you. Wouldn’t it be great if the brownies you loved were actually good for you? Well, these brownies are not as good for you as say a bowl of salad, but they are better for you than regular brownies. These are made using no oil and even have two fruits and a vegetable hidden in the recipe.
Science has done it again. Yes, good old science has proven that men with facial hair benefit from instant handsomeness. If this is true, then the guys from Duck Dynasty must be the sexiest men alive.
Being a parent with a pile of kids, I long for weekends alone with my husband. Sometimes I think back to the days before kids and the free time we had to spend together. We had more time and money back then for each other and for romance. Now, whenev
I have a confession to make. For the past month or so I have been indulging in the best cheeseburger and fries I’ve ever had. I am feeling a little bit guilty about not sharing, so I will let you in on my little secret. The best cheeseburger and fries I have ever eaten are from the newly reopened 9 Mile House, which is now known as the 9 Mile Roadhouse. You can still find this out of the way eatery at 28030 Old US Highway 10 West in Huson.
I love desserts. The easier they are to make, the better. This is a super easy recipe with no baking involved! All you have to do is mix everything together and you’re done. This doesn’t get much easier for busy parents. These bars are not only delicious, but they are also pretty darn good for you. They are made with coconut oil, honey and dark chocolate - no flour, sugar or oil. So you can enjoy these bars without guilt.
I am a big fan of easy recipes and especially easy desserts. Rice crispie treats are one of my favorites. There aren’t too many desserts that are as easy to make or taste quite as good. So, when I found this recipe that takes rice crispie treats and kicks them up a notch, I just had to try them. They did not disappoint. The added chocolate and white chocolate only seem to enhance the goodness of these classic treats.
I love having kids. They are so much fun, and really fun to play tricks on. April Fool’s Day has got to be the most fun day of the year when you have kids. There isn’t much that will put a smile on your face faster, or make laugh longer, than seeing the surprise on your child’s face when they realize they’ve been tricked, and by their parents no less. So, to help all of us parents make this April Fool’s Day great, I’ve compiled a list of practical jokes to play on your kids.
