I love desserts, especially chocolate ones. This one is great because it cooks while you’re at work. If you’re like me and own more than one crockpot then you can have both dinner and dessert ready for you when you get home from your busy day. Imagine how great your house will smell with dessert in the crockpot.
This past weekend I spent many hours taking my gun for a walk. I know to some it may seem like a waste of time, but he had been a really good boy and was just begging me to take him for a walk in the woods.
With cold and flu season here the staple food for the sick is chicken noodle soup. I grew up eating canned bland chicken noodle soup every time I had a cold. This was fine when I was a kid, but now that I’m older I have a bit more discerning pallet.
What is the deal with NBC? Are they trying to make me hate them? I can’t believe that they can’t find one person there who can come up with an original idea. Instead they are dead set on taking classics and regurgitating them. I want nothing to do with the putrid stench that will be wafting off the spew that is a NBC mutilated redone classic.
With Thanksgiving almost here, you will find cranberry sauce along with stuffing and pumpkin pie puree on sale almost everywhere you go. So, why not buy it while it’s cheap and use it for something else besides just as a side dish for Thanksgiving dinner? Cranberry sauce is my husband, my kids’ and my favorite. We actually eat it all year round, which the rest of my family thinks is weird, but we love it.
Have you ever thrown out dried goods because they went stale or you found meal worms feasting in them? Did you know there is a very simple way for you to save these precious goods from spoiling for years? Oven canning is really easy, and the best part of it is that you don’t have to buy a big expensive pressure cooker, jar lifters or pectin.
Recently a 20-pound carp ran for city council in Ann Arbor Michigan, but was unsuccessful in clinching the win. It seems that this large fishy fellow was seeking to win by write in votes. He first gained notoriety when preservation workers at a local pond caught him vandalizing vegetation. He was quickly relocated to Huron River just a short distance away. After his move, the carp announced his intention to swim for office via his twitter account @TwentyPoundCarp.
My mom makes the pumpkin pies every Thanksgiving. However, the last two years that she’s been in charge of making the pies, she has forgotten to add the sugar to them. Have you ever tried a pumpkin pie that didn’t have sugar in it? You need to eat it with a whole lot of whipped cream.
Having four kids of my own I get some pretty interesting answers for the questions I ask. Some of my favorite answers come from asking my kids the question they just asked me. I’ll give you an example.
This is the most beautiful, sad and heart-warming video I’ve ever seen. I dare you to watch it without getting teary eyed. I don’t think it’s possible. The baby in this video seems to feel the sadness and pain that the song is portraying. It is pretty amazing.
