I enjoy baking and will spend hours baking on my days off, but my good friend and coworker hates it. In fact, she doesn’t even keep flour in her house. The only way she will make a pie is to buy a frozen one from the store and reheat it. I on the other hand, will make both my filling and my crust from scratch.
It’s been a full year now that I’ve been on my kick to build a healthier life for me and my family. I didn’t make any drastic changes but slowly swapped some less healthy foods for healthier ones (most times unbeknownst to my family). I also made an effort to get outside every day and exercise a few times a week. I also swapped movies and TV time with my kids for walks in the woods and bike rides on our local bike path.
I was looking for something for dinner this weekend and ran across this recipe. I thought the recipe was a little plain the way it was, so I spiced it up a little bit. I was sure my boys would like it since it had tater tots, but was really surprised when my husband loved it.
Recently a friend posted this video on Facebook. I’m usually picky about what videos I watch that people post, otherwise I would be watching videos all day. I would never get any work done. However, this video intrigued me.
I made this amazing bread this Sunday night for my family. I have to admit that it does take a bit more work than Bisquick biscuits, but if you have the time, it’s definitely worth it. It is the perfect mix of classic white bread with just the right touch of sweet.
Like most wives, I love to torture my husband by handing him my purse to hold when we are in a store. In fact, sometimes I will find something to try on that I’m not even interested in buying, just so he has to hold my purse. I know this is cruel but it is also really funny. Sometimes I even point and laugh at him when he’s holding it. He usually just rolls his eyes and tosses the purse at me.
There’s a joke around our house about paying each other with knowledge. It all started one day when we were sitting around talking and my husband had mentioned how he had paid a bill over the phone and how he had randomly told the person who assisted him on the phone a little factoid. He then commented that he had not only paid the bill but also paid the representative with a little knowledge.
I’m not sure if this is the best news or the worst news I’ve ever heard. It seems that there is a clown shortage, according to the World Clown Association. Apparently this is due to old clowns dying off and no new clowns wanting to fill their giant shoes.
This recipe is a little twist on the classic potato soup. My mom always cooked with kielbasa, whether it was in a nice cold pasta salad during the summer or in a hot stir fry, it was a staple in my house growing up. However, it hasn’t been something I’ve cooked with much since I’ve been married, mainly because my husband is a huge hunter and we mostly eat game meat. Every once in a while I like a change of pace and will buy kielbasa. It’s almost considered a treat in my house since we have it so rarely.
Yes, I know it’s still February, but I just can’t help myself. I desperately want spring to make its appearance. I am growing weary of the below zero temperatures for a week, followed by high 30 degree temperatures. The snowy, icy, wet and slushy roads are starting to drive me crazy, literally.
I will let you know right off the bat that this recipe is not the healthiest dessert recipe you will find, but it is one of the easiest to make and the best tasting. It only takes a few simple ingredients and you have a dessert that tastes like something you would buy at a fancy bakery.
