Little Sullivan Award Nominees
Montana AAU has named its male and four female nominees for the Little Sullivan Award.
The finalists were nominated for the leadership, character, sportsmanship as well as athletic achievements. The winners will be announced at the Little Sullivan banquet in Billings on April 30.

Officials at a Montana retirement home say the world's oldest man has been hospitalized.
Walter Breuning is 114, making him the oldest man and the second oldest person in the world.

House Fire On 11th In Missoula
The residents of 1761 S. 11th St. W. discovered smoke coming from the garage around 6:30 this evening and called emergency services. The house on the corner of 11th and Garfield is a rental property. According to the daughter of the renter, smoke was discovered in the garage by her brother and she went to investigate. Upon opening the door into the garage from inside the house, she could see flames coming from a couch being stored there.

Bikers Love The Beartooth
Members of the American Motorcyclist Association have voted the Beartooth Highway as their favorite stretch of road in the U.S.
The winding, mountain highway climbs nearly 6,000 feet between Red Lodge, Mont., and Cooke City, Mont. Part of the route dips into Wyoming just east of Yellowstone National Park.

Surplus of Out-Of-State Hunting Licenses
Montana has some of the best hunting in this country and despite the increase in the cost to purchase an out-of-state tag, I think the surplus of tags will still be sold.
Wildlife officials are pointing to an increase in the price of some nonresident hunting licenses as the reason about 1,200 big game combination licenses are still for sale.

Reynolds Fundraiser
The wife of Chase Reynolds, Kila Reynolds was recently named Mrs. Montana 2011. She is leaving today (Wednesday) to compete in the Mrs. America Pageant in West Virginia. Chase is holding a fundraising dinner on Thursday to help cover her expenses.

A Clancy eighth-grade home-schooler has won the Treasure State Spelling Bee after 14 rounds by correctly spelling the word "phoneticize."
The definition of phoneticize: to represent (speech) in writing by means of a system in which individual symbols correspond regularly with speech sounds.
