‘Duets,’ the new reality singing competition series starring Sugarland vocalist Jennifer Nettles and semi-country singer Kelly Clarkson, debuts this coming Thursday (May 24) in a two-hour premiere. The premise of the show is that established vocalists will partner with neophytes for –you guessed it- a duet! Rather than be judges or mentors, the celebs are performing alongside the hopefuls. Ahead of the big bow at 8 PM ET, the singing partners of each mentor have been revealed by ABC.
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, country’s first couple who celebrated their first wedding anniversary last Monday (May 14), are big animal lovers. They incorporated their pets into their wedding ceremony and according to Shelton in a recent chat and photo spread in In Touch, they’ve rescued “at least 20 dogs, as well as cats and horses.” The irony that the duo lives in a converted hunting lodge in Oklahoma, and the fact that they are avid hunters, is not lost on them, either. However, their dedication to domesticated critters does offer insight into how they will fare with kids.
It appears that Jake Owen was arrested late Saturday night (May 5). The singer shared a photo of himself cuffed and next to a cop car just after 11:30PM ET — mere hours after he was tossing back a beer with a buddy, happily and heartily celebrating Cinco de Mayo.
Tag Majid has his priorities in order. The 40-year-old father of three spent nearly $50,000 and a year of his life restoring a beat up, 1985 GMC Vandura, turning it into his very own ‘A-Team’-style ride. We love it when a plan comes together.
There’s two sides to every story and to country superstar Carrie Underwood. In the video for her brand new single ‘Good Girl,’ Underwood plays the role of the good, wholesome girl as well as that of the rebel. The one thing that unites the two sides of her personality and the parts she plays? A deep, unwavering love of gorgeous, dangerously high and infinitely stylish heels. What gal doesn’t love a pair of fab shoes?
Miranda Lambert has a more active role on this season of ‘The Voice.’ While she supported her husband, coach Blake Shelton, last season and performed with his finalist Dia Frampton on air, this season, she’s more deeply involved as an advisor to Shelton’s team.
Former Monkees singer Davy Jones died of a heart attack today (Feb. 29) at the age of 66. Though Jones was a pop icon, memorizing kids of the ’60s with his television series band, even country stars were affected by the loss and shared fond memories of the singer and the show via Twitter. It just goes to show that music is a universal language, regardless of genre.
Dierks Bentley is a member of the million mile club. The singer just wrapped the Canadian leg of his 2012 Country & Cold Cans Tour in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Thursday, Feb. 23. Upon crossing the border to re-enter his home (or is that ‘Home?’) country of the U.S., “Old Goldie,” his tour bus, logged its millionth mile.
