The Lake County Sheriff's department has issued a press release citing the cause of Monday morning's lockdown of Arlee schools.

Lake County Sheriff Jay Doyle says Lake County 9-1-1 took a call at about 10 a.m.that a suicidal male was in possession of a firearm in a residence on McMurtrie street in Arlee. The school was placed in lockdown purely as a precaution, and no one was in danger at the school at any time.

Undersheriff Dan Yonkin says because Arlee is such a small town, almost any street in close to the school, and that is why the lockdown was initiated. The school received the all-clear after 37 year-old Peter Woken was arrested and taken to the Lake County jail.

The press release noted that Lake County Deputies, Tribal Police, the Highway Patrol, Arlee ambulance and Arlee Volunteer Fire Department all responded to the call.
