From the be careful what you tweet file: A Minneapolis man, traveling with his two children, says he was asked to get off a Southwest Airlines plane because of an unflattering tweet he posted about an airline employee.
The dispute started when Duff Watson was boarding a flight home to Minneapolis from Denver on Sunday. He had an “A” pass, allowing him priority boarding, but the employee at the gate wouldn’t allow his 6 and 9-year-old children to board with him, so he had to wait.
Watson told the agent he’d tweet about it and followed through, writing something like, “Wow, the rudest agent in Denver. Kimberly S, gate C39, not happy @SWA.”
Apparently, that wasn’t the smartest tactic to take, since he was asked to leave the plane shortly after boarding. The agent felt threatened by his tweet and told him he couldn’t return to the plane unless he deleted it.
Watson did eventually make it back to Minneapolis. Southwest says they’re investigating the incident and gave him and his children each $50 vouchers, but he says he’s never going to fly Southwest again. Wonder if he tweeted that?
