Adrian Peterson will officially rejoin the Minnesota Vikings today at the team's off-season workout facility.

The star running back was reinstated by the NFL last month after being suspended following charges stemming from an incident in which he injured his young son while disciplining him with a switch.

Peterson missed 15 of the team's games last season and was rumored to be looking for a trade, but the Vikings have expressed an interest in keeping him. He tells ESPN, "I'm returning because I want to. I'm a part of this football team and I owe it to the guys I play with and to our coaches. I was planning on coming in this week, and I'm looking forward to getting back on the field. It's what I love to do.
