Last week we heard the disgusting news of an elk and domestic cow being butchered near Anaconda.

Now, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking information on two elk that were poached this week about seven miles west of Drummond along the frontage road. The violator(s) went through a closed gate onto private property and drove across a hay field where the elk were killed, filed dressed and removed from the area.

So sad when the selfish few can't obey the laws and frustrate and anger legitimate Montana hunters everywhere. Anyone who might have information on the case is asked to call Warden Brad Balis, 406--210-9049 or 1-800-TIP-MONT (847-6668). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to a conviction.

We wish all you honest hunters still trying to fill tags this season much success. We wish all you poachers fines and revoked hunting privileges forever if not longer!
