Just finished "The Panic Zone" by Rick Monfina,  an author I’m going to add to my list of “read more by this guy.” If you’re looking for fast paced intrigue, real characters, and exciting reading this guy is good. Once I started reading it was hard to put the book down.

The main character is newspaper reporter Jack Gannon.  His assignment takes him all over the U.S., then South America, and Europe. He’s chasing a story involving DNA manipulation based in secret research abandoned by the U.S. government at the end of the Cold War. At risk, a segment of the world’s population.

"The Panic Zone" has a mom from Wyoming looking for a missing son, a group of scientists fighting time to find a solution to the health threat.  And yes the author successfully ties it all together.

This book starts with an explosion and races around the world building to an exciting conclusion.

I've got another book underway for Al's Book Blog, this time by Michael Crichton. Yup, the same guy who started with "Andromeda Strain" and "Terminal Man" and more recently "Airframe" and "Jurassic Park."

Keep up with Al's Book Blog ,it's what I've read and liked. I'll be posting new books regularly.
