As I was driving to work this morning, I couldn't help but turn up the volume when I heard a story about a man who was selling himself on eBay.

This was definitely a first for me. I had heard of people "listing" themselves on Craigslist before, but never eBay — and for quite a bargain!

What would be this man's reason, might you ask, for selling himself on eBay? And for what price? According to truTV's "Dumb as a Blog:"

Steve Sewell, an unemployed 58-year-old British man, unsuccessfully tried to auction himself off on eBay in an attempt to get the attention of employers [...] In the listing, he described himself as having “some wear to moving parts,” as well as being in used condition with “excellent interpersonal skills, infinite patience and an indestructible sense of humor.” Unfortunately, without the original packaging and accessories it was just too hard of a sell.

Sewell posted himself at a mere $1.50 in hopes to attract those eBay bargain hunters, but despite the extremely low offer, the posting closed on Monday with no bids.
