A Few Quick Denny Takes On Last Night

Yes, I know, you've been waiting all day, right?  :-) You know, I never have much emotional investment in those award shows. I don't really care who wins, I just want to be entertained. And for the most part I was! But of course just like everybody else, I have a few thoughts 

Carrie Underwood: I think it's become a show routine that she changes outfits so much. I applaud her good-natured attitude about it. A couple of those dresses were borrowed from Jane Jetson.

Jake Owen: He could loan chunks of his good-lookin-ness to 15 of us guys and still be good lookin'.

Faith Hill: Good luck with your comeback to country radio, ma'am. You're great but the song you performed last night ain't gonna get you there.

ABC  TV: Are you SURE you had enough of your actors presenting awards. Sheesh. But at least they had a couple of my current favorites, like the guy from Modern Family and the gal from Revenge. Great shows!

Best New Artist: Shucks, apparently you have to have been making hit songs for at least a couple years to be in the "new artist" category.

Natasha Beddingfield's skirt (she performed with Rascal Flatts): Aha! That's what happened to Cousin It from the Adams Family...he's all grown up.

Brad Paisley, Vince Gill and Keith Urban: Thank you for a fabulous tribute to Glen Campbell, who is dealing with the challenge of Alzheimer's. That look in  his face is the same one I saw in my dearly departed mom 20 years ago.  

Thanks ABC and CMA for putting on a great show. It was fun. And it's fun sharing thoughts. Yours?
