31 year-old Sean Wilde appeared last week before District Judge Robert L. ‘Dusty’ Deschamps on charges that he violated terms of his probation stemming from a rape that allegedly occurred in 2013.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Jennifer Clark said Wilde was convicted on two counts of criminal endangerment that resulted from a hung jury in his rape trial in 2014.

“Sean Wilde was arrested for violating the terms of his probation,” Clark said. “The allegations are that he was seeking escorts for sexual purposes, had pornography on his phone, had a cell phone with internet capability, which he is not supposed to have, he also had Facebook and had subscribed to other internet sites, and is not in compliance with his treatments.”

Clark said Wilde was sentenced to two 10 year terms and received probation.

“Wilde was sentenced on March 17th  of 2015 and he did have a prior probation violation in January of this year,” she said.

Following his arrest, Clark said Wilde appeared before Judge Deschamps last week.

“He was seen by Judge Deschamps who set bail at $50,000,” she said. “A report of violation will be filed and he will either enter denials or admissions, and if he enters denials, a date will be set for a hearing. The maximum sentence he could face is 20 years in prison.”

Wilde admitted raping a woman in 2013, but his mental health issues at trial ended with a hung jury. He was eventually convicted on two counts of criminal endangerment with 10 years suspended on each count. He is now back in the Missoula County Jail on $50,000 bond.
