Thursday night at 7 p.m. representatives of the city and county, along with the University of Montana will present a forum on the State of the Community.

Mayor Jon Engen, County Commissioner Jean Curtiss and UM President Royce Engstrom will appear in front a gathering of community members to answer questions from the audience and provide an update on the many areas of cooperation between the three entities.

Vice President for Integrated Communications Peggy Kuhr says the three will address the difficulties experienced by the University, the city and the county over the negative national publicity concerning sexual assaults over the past year. She says the three will not dwell on the investigations underway by the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, the Department of Education and the NCAA, but rather focus on the steps taken to address the problems, both on campus and in the community as a whole.

The address is free and open to the public in the Montana Theater inside the Performing Arts and Radio/Television Center on the UM Campus.
