140-Year-Old Bottle of Beer Auctioned Off

Craft beers are hot right now, especially here in Montana but a real beer collector purchased one of the rarest brews on the entire planet.

The aged beer was Allsopp’s Arctic Ale, which was specifically brewed in England for an expedition to the North Pole.

The expedition was a near-disaster when the weather became extremely cold and some men caught scurvy.

But they had this beer, which must have lifted their spirits.

Now, this bottle of goodness, which went all the way to the Arctic Circle and back to England, has been sold for $6,300 – the price of a decent used car.

The auction house believes that the beer would be “sweet tasting with a hint of tobacco.”

Maybe it will make it's way to Montana, you never know.
